Sandy Lane, Barbados
The serene Caribbean legend and haven of the rich and famous.
Since 1961, Sandy Lane has been the undisputed idyll and playground of high society and the jet set, but by the 1990’s, the resort was living off its reputation alone. A dramatic rescue plan was hatched, not by hoteliers but entrepreneurs, who adored Sandy Lane and wished to see it revived with no expense spared.
‘The Dorchester by the sea’.
Our brief – to recreate the premier address in the Caribbean. Inspired by the eighteenth century colonial Barbadian grand houses and the world-class reputation, we embarked upon recreating paradise from the ground up. In creating a unique sense of place, local coral stone and natural materials were used extensively throughout.
Our creative collaboration continues with Sandy Lane. By ensuring that the constantly evolving demands of the ultimate modern day resort are met, Sandy Lane can retain its rightful mantle as ‘The top resort hotel in the Americas’.
112 rooms (including 22 suites), 2 restaurants, 2 bars, function room facilities, 3,500 square metre spa and golf clubhouse
